I'm Martha Ortman, a Minnesota artist who believes art can create connection, spark curiosity, and invite us to see the world in a new way.

My work ranges from representational to abstract, often inspired by nature, personal experiences, memories, and the people and places that shape our lives. I work primarily in acrylic and oil, but I also enjoy drawing and mixed media. Some pieces begin with a clear idea; others evolve as I experiment with color, texture, and form.

My hope is that my paintings bring beauty to the spaces where they hang, but even more, that they help people reconnect with a memory, an emotion, or perhaps a part of themselves they had forgotten.
